My boss, Michelle, is a phenomenal poet. She recently wrote one that I fell in love with so I thought I would share it. I am a sucker for poetry and good stories. Hope you all enjoy!
Written by Michelle Huggins to Debi, in memory of her love James Innes
A hawk flew past
his talons exposed,
I thought of you
gracefully growing old.
Then I realized,
now in my mind,
you won't age.
And the fact that you left
means I must turn a page.
In this way
The world has ripped me
from you.
In the grip of its talon,
at the drop of a shoe;
gone are the moments
of watching you soar;
and the though of lost flight
makes me miss you more.
I'm tired,
eyes burning,
I've been dreaming of you.
Life is disconcerting,
disconnected;
What can I do?
The first few moments,
and for days after you left,
I had so much to do
couldn't think of myself.
Background noise
so loud
I couldn't hear you.
But,
when the ground stopped shaking
the volume came through.
Then I heard your laughter;
I could taste your skin
I felt your warm breath,
smelled the clothes you were in.
Even now
You seem to be everywhere I look;
A hero;
in torment in the pages of my book.
The breeze;
that innocently brushes my face.
The void;
of a man who once crowded this space.
The whisper;
heard faintly from across a room.
The person;
missing next to me at night in my tomb.
It's amazing
how crazy we could drive one another.
The way of the world
when it comes to true lovers.
Those moments are gone
in the blink of an eye.
But your memory is rich
and full,
and I start to cry.

July 24, 2008
One of the many wonderful things about living in Utah is the July 24th holiday. Nothing better than an extra day off work. I went on a hike all day in the Uintah Mtns then had a BBQ with my friends. It was a perfect day, the only taint was going back to work on Friday.
Gus and Chewy were exhausted after the day hiking in the Mtns. They were so cute cuddled up on my bed.
I am sorry there are so many pictures. I couldn't choose between them so posted all.

Countdown Begins
We went to one of my favorite sushi restaurants in PC. Towards the end of the meal our waiter brought out some "tokyo nachos". What they are is a big chip, guacamole, spicy tuna and caviar. Apparently the chef thought they were for the waiter, not a customer, so he decided to play a joke by replacing the guac on one of the chips with pure wasabi. Of course that was the chip that I ate. I have never been in such pain. I honestly thought I was going to die it hurt so badly. So that is where this picture is from, I had to document the event forever. I will be MUCH more careful with my guac from now on!

Family B-day Party
My Pops' dog, Callie. The biggest love-bug on earth.
Drew was kind enought to brush her out. She was sooooooo happy. Every time he would stop to clean the brush out she would grab his arm with her paws so he wouldn't go away

4th of July
The 4th was pretty crazy this year. I had a lot of family in town, a wonderful surprise visit from Merrilee ( I just wish I had more time with her) and some visitors from Montana. Drew's little sis, Rebecca, and bro-in-law, Matt, came down for the weekend with their brand new boxer puppy. We went to the Utah Symphony concert at Deer Valley. I packed a picnic dinner and we listened to beautiful patriotic favorites. After the show we headed to Park City golf course for a front row seat of the fireworks. The town put on an incredible display as usual.
This is Rebecca, Matt and their new puppy, Harvey
This is part of my back yard and backside of my little house.
